“We are sending a stern and clear message to private server owners: unauthorized use of GunBound’s intellectual property must stop.”
Bratty! Studios has begun issuing formal cease-and-desist notices to operators of unauthorized GunBound private servers. These enforcement actions are being undertaken with the support of Softnyx, the owner of GunBound, as part of a broader effort to protect the game, its intellectual property and the integrity of its official service.
The message to private server operators is stern and clear: the GunBound name, trademarks, artwork, game assets and other protected materials are not available for unauthorized use, reproduction, distribution or commercial exploitation.
Following enforcement notices, two projects have already removed the GunBound name and associated assets. Bratty! Studios considers this an important first step, but rebranding alone does not resolve infringement where protected GunBound assets continue to be used without authorization.
According to Bratty! Studios, the private server Gitz has removed the GunBound name but continues to use game assets without authorization. The company considers any continued unauthorized use of protected GunBound material an infringement and has demanded that such use cease.
Bratty! Studios is also reviewing the activities of Gitz and MetaGroup Interactive with legal counsel. Where evidence establishes unauthorized use of GunBound intellectual property, the company is prepared to pursue the legal remedies available to it and its partners.
Cease-and-desist notices are formal legal demands, not warnings that can be satisfied through cosmetic changes. Removing the GunBound name while continuing to reproduce, distribute or exploit protected assets does not, by itself, address the underlying unauthorized use.
Private server operators should therefore understand our position without ambiguity: if you are using GunBound intellectual property without authorization, stop.
Bratty! Studios will continue identifying and documenting unauthorized uses of GunBound intellectual property. Cases that are not brought into compliance may be referred to legal counsel for further enforcement action, based on the evidence and applicable law.
We would strongly prefer that operators comply voluntarily. Where they do not, we are prepared to escalate.
Our responsibility is to protect GunBound, its intellectual property, its players and the long-term integrity of the official service. We intend to fulfill that responsibility.
This is a stern and clear message to private server owners: respect GunBound’s intellectual property, cease unauthorized use, or be prepared to face further enforcement action.
